Blogging sounds bad?

Don't have much time for a thoughtful, considered post today.  I have to do a couple of things then be ready when hubby finishes his work week.  We are in the city and he will drive our 300 miles home with me this time.  But, this comic was in my newspaper this morning and I thought others may enjoy it too.

My youngest son tells me I need a FaceBook page and although I'm considering that, I refuse to Twitter.  I'm not sure anyone needs to know--or cares--that much about what I'm doing.   Are young people forgetting how to socialize and speak to each other in person?  I hope not.

Blogging is enough for me, I don't think Face Book or Twitter are going to add anything to my internet experience! I really can't see much point in either of them, though I'm wiling to learn.

I have a facebook page so that I can play Scrabble with my son, nieces, and a cousin. I love it.

This is HILARIOUS!!! I can't quit chuckling.

In answer to your question... I have a fear that face to face conversation may become a lost art. How often do you see two people together speaking in muted tones and you think, "How sweet" They seem so involved in their discussion with one another... then a cell phone rings and in a blink one of the parties sits staring into space while the other talks to the voice on the other end of his call. Soon, they're both texting to unseen parties ... sharing space, but not intimacy.

I worry a tad...

Facebook? Twitter? I only have so much time to expend. I need to gobble the goodies already on my platter...

well let me put in a plug for facebook-it's a way to contact younger members of your family that won't read your blog-they will read your facebook page and you can update it as much as you want-haven't twittered yet but may try it so to see what it's like. And I think all this blogging etc is because we lack and crave social interaction easily and the internet does it for us. I cut out that cartoon too I will be teaching a creative blogging class next sept for Dixie state college's comm. ed class-come take it and we can get acquainted finally.

LOVE the "blogger" comic strip. Excellent point, too. And another good point about Facebook/Twitter replacing good, old-fashioned face-to-face communication. It's a concern. And a bigger concern is the number of folks we see on the highway either talking on their cellphones or texting while supposedly being responsible drivers. Scary.

That is a funny one! I have a Facebook page but it seems to be more trouble than it is worth. I don't even want to think about Twitter.

Jo, I have another question about Kindle. Does it have a light feature so it can be read at night, say in the car?

I tried Twitter, but I have no interest in Facebook..too much private goes very public...

I agree with this completely. Thanks for getting me up to date with this cartoon. As you can see I'm strolling through your posts backwards.
