I know that I wrote about this some time ago, but unfortunately, I haven't noticed the frequency diminishing. Sometimes when I read the status updates on my young Facebook "friends," it seems as if there is a written code, understood only by a select few. I miss careful grammar and good spelling, and really appreciate those who take it seriously.

how true, I'm on facebook and sometime have to google some remarks to understand what they are really trying to say but it is educational. lol!
How true!
Here's a little funny. My sister Facebooked me and ended her remark with LOL. Her daughter told her it was lame for her to write LOL, she was too old! Now we both lamely write LOL whenever we think she will see it.
This is so like funny, Jo. I found after a while that I was like saying it, too.
We are kindred spirits on this topic. I cannot read without proofreading because it is so built in to my brain. Needless to say, the English language is hurting!!
I swear, if you took "like" out of some people's vocabulary, they wouldn't be able to talk at all!
